Job Summary: To enhance the quality of life of the residents. The activity assistant designs and implements activity programs as overseen by the activity director, to meet the social, creative, physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of the residents.
Education: High school plus one to two years accredited training in art, music, occupational therapy or therapeutic recreation, Wisconsin Basic Activity Course, or a closely related field.
Experience: One-year experience working in a geriatric setting in the activity field or as a nursing assistant.
Possesses the understanding and ability to comply with federal and state rules and regulations as it applies to nursing homes (i.e., OBRA).
